Traditional texts of (Apostles' Creed, Lord's Prayer, etc.) have been included for the purpose of memorization, with the same texts re-written "in everyday language." Martin Luther's explanations follow in a careful paraphrase, that uses simplified word replacement rather than a looser rendition of thoughts and ideas. Scripture texts are taken from the Contemporary English Version (CEV) of the Bible, which is written at a similar level. The curious character known as "Luther's Small Cat" follows the readings, page by page.
Luther's Small Cat Series Luther's Small Cat Series is an elementary-aged Sunday School curricula focusing on Luther's Small Catechism. Each of these five-session booklets use Scripture stories, puzzles, and questions to explore the meaning of a single part of the Catechism, all with the help of that wise little cat! Printed in every booklet is the appropriate section from Luther's Small Catechism - Children's Version for use in study and memory work.
